ABOUT

Dr. Lozano is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychotherapy services for adult patients who reside in the states of New York and California. He has received extensive training across multiple settings including outpatient community mental health clinics, major city hospitals and private practice. He specializes in working with clients who experience depression, anxiety, trauma and stressor-related disorders including PTSD. In his practice, he also addresses relationship conflicts, multicultural issues as well as grief and loss. Dr. Lozano's theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic but has also been trained in ACT (acceptance commitment therapy), and mindfulness-based techniques. Dr. Lozano is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDRIA certified).

Dr. Lozano received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Davis, and his master’s and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco Campus. He completed his pre-doctoral APA accredited internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. In addition, Dr. Lozano worked as a psychotherapist at the adult outpatient psychiatry department at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lozano’s professional experience also included private practice settings in NYC and community mental health clinics in the Bay Area including La Clinica de la Raza and Instituto Familiar de la Raza.

Dr. Lozano is originally from Lima, Peru and provides therapy in English and Spanish. As a bicultural and bilingual psychologist, he feels passionate about cultural diversity and the stressors and life events that come with adapting to a new culture.

In his spare time, Dr. Lozano enjoys sports and outdoor activities. He is also passionate about music and films.
